WHO'S BEHIND THIS

Playtabbed is a small, independent review site for free browser shooters — the games you can open in a tab and be playing within a minute.

Why it exists

Browser shooters are a strange corner of gaming. There are dozens of them, most are abandoned, a handful are genuinely great, and there's no reliable way to tell which is which without trying each one. We do the trying. We keep a short list of the ones with real players in the lobby, working servers and no forced sign-up, and we write down what we found.

What we are not

We don't host games, we don't run affiliate links, and we don't sell placement on the list. Every "Play" button goes straight to the game's own official site with nothing added. No game developer has paid to be here, and none has been asked to.

How the list changes

Browser games come and go. When a game on the list loses its player base or stops being maintained, it comes off. When something new is worth a tab, it goes on. Scores are revisited when a game changes meaningfully. There's no fixed schedule — the list moves when the games move.

All character and cover illustrations on this site are original work made for Playtabbed. They're designed to reflect each game's genre and mood, not to reproduce any game's official art, characters or assets.
